October , 2009–Miami, FL- The Fashion Designers Expo Florida 2009 (FDE) October 29-31, 2009, in Miami is a three day event for emerging designers to show their collections to the fashion industry. FDE is also a chance for artists, models, and stylists to present their talent. This year FDE is benefiting Susan G. Komen for the Cure Miami|FTL. The Fashion Designers Expo Florida 2009 is sponsored by Kimaje’ Kreations, WeArrive.com, The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, and Norma’s Touch. “We launched FDE because emerging fashion industry professionals needed a place to shine,” says co-founder Karine Melissa. “Our purpose is to bring dreams to reality.” Karine Melissa co-founded FDE with Clinton Powell and Tahaji Smith. The white party kick-off night will be Thursday, October 29, at the Dina Mitrani Art Gallery from 8-10pm. Friday, October 30, will be FDE feature designer night located in The Newport Beachside Hotel & Resort from 8-10pm. Saturday, October 31, will be the PINK Masquerade Dinner Gala benefiting Susan G. Komen For the Cure Mia|Ftl and the FDE finale extravaganza, featuring designs by The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale alumni held in The Newport Beachside Hotel & Resort from 8-10pm. “PINK Hits the Runway” will be featured each night of the expo, showcasing pink garments from various emerging designers.
Each night the expo will be showcasing the work of talented designers with creative collections. FDE feature designers are: Kimaje’ Kreations Swim Collection, LaDaska Mechelle, Asuka Collection, In’Tyce Swimwear, ElliRose Swimwear, Sugar Cane Swimwear, La’ Daska Mechelle, Glamour Evening Collection, Ambeau’s Fashion Collection, T&A by Batoul Al Kamha, Nicolle Michelle Jewlery Designs, Jocar, Nicola Jay, Juero, and Cecelia I. Couture. The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale Alumni designer collections are: Tatiana de Silva Resort Wear, Imee Nefer with Lil Miss Diva Children’s Wear, and Danielle Blezin Eveningwear. Special guests attending FDE 2009 include Tiffany Richardson and Anchal Jones from America’s Next Top Model.
