Komen For the Cure Mia|Ftl and the FDE finale extravaganza, featuring designs by The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale alumni held in The Newport Beachside Hotel & Resort from 8-10pm. “PINK Hits the Runway” will be featured each night of the expo, showcasing pink garments from various emerging designers.

Each night the expo will be showcasing the work of talented designers with creative collections. Who are the trendsetters, movers, and shakers in this fashion culture?  Statistics show that 98% of the world follow culture and ONLY 2% shape culture!  I was amazed!  Why aren’t there more people shaping our culture?  Are people too scared to try something new?  I encourage us all to break out of the norm and tap into the creative side of our minds.  We have to raise that 2% statistic!

Good Morning my Fashion World!

Hope you’re doing great and kicking off your summer right!

I announced a fashion show on Friday at Passions.  Kimaje’ Kreations Swim Collection of course was fabulous, BUT I will never again go to Passions at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino!  Management proved to be very racist, disrespectful, and disgusting.  I was told that the owner of the club literally cursed out guests while spitting in their face!  Management unnecessarily called PD to take wristbands away from people because they didn’t want them in the club.  The officer very clearly stated that he knew the call wasn’t appropriate but he was just doing his job.

Was it because they weren’t the right “race?”  Over 50 African Americans were turned away from the venue because “their attire wasn’t appropriate”, said the little doorman.  Now let’s see.  Male number one had on sneakers and a t-shirt.  Male number two had on dress shoes and a button down shirt.  Now, who do you think was dressed appropriately and should’ve been let in the venue?  Well, the funny thing is that Male number two was African American so he was turned away and male number one, who was not African American, was let in the venue with a t-shirt and sneakers.  WOW!  It does still exist my people!

I would never recommend this venue to anyone planning an event.  It was one of the worst experiences of racism I’ve encountered in my life.  Never again will I attend Passions under that management at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.
